One Very Special Box…Thanks, Alan

Alan celebrated the new millennium and the year 2000 by issuing this limited edition boxed collection. It consists of 8 effects housed in a gorgeously done mahogany veneered hinged box. This item was limited to only 12 sets and each accompanied by a signed certificate. The effects vary from simple classics to very nice originals that can stand up to Alan’s more formidable pieces. I particularly like Geometric, Kubika, and Candle Candle. This beautiful collection would be the envy of any magic set collector. Forget Mysto and other “collectible” magic sets, this is more reminiscent of those antique wooden magic sets of the past, all handcrafted with meticulous attention to esthetics and function. You really need to see this set firsthand to really appreciate the workmanship, as images are clearly inadequate.

Alan has always proved himself a master craftsman and inventor, but he is also a most generous man. I will particularly cherish the Millennium Box I received because what started as an honest mistake led to a remarkable gesture from Alan. 2 weeks ago, an inquiry regarding 2 effects in this collection led us to believe that No. 12, the last box in the series, was still available. I ended up paying for what was eventually unraveled to be a sold-out series. However, Alan, in the kindness of his heart, promptly offered me his own box, No. 1, from his personal collection of his magic. I was quite taken by such a gesture and I can’t thank Alan enough. This unique piece will definitely hold a special place in my Warner collection.

The “Ultimate” card case?

This case is truly marvelous…THREE changes and not a single sweat to perform. The workmanship is, of course, impeccable. Alan picks teak with beautiful grain patterns for these pieces since the case is “large” and easily showcases this gorgeous wood. The accompanying instructions provide 20 ideas for the card case, so it has so many possibilities. I bought Colourama specifically for this case: the two pieces complement each other in one sure-fire routine.

Another nice piece from Alan

Clever piece from Alan in that the “forcing” is done in a most natural manner that would even fool a magician. The props are beautiful as always and accomplish the effect without any awkwardness. Nice addition to any Warner collection.

Beautiful Props and Routine

This a great piece from Alan. A definte buy for the Warner collector…though what piece from Alan isn’t. Rainbow of colors, beautiful teak, and clever method makes this one a very entertaining routine. Easy to perform and highly magical. Highly Recommended

Love this straight forward piece

This is one of the simpler effects from Alan but a piece to cherish. Its just gets lost among the other fabulous magic from this genius of a man. Though straight forward in execution, the gimmick is beautifully done and the craftsmanship of the entire apparatus definitely deserves a 5+.

What a routine!!

This is one entertaining piece of magic you can not miss. I have seen numerous special mention to this item from Alan in the magic forums whenever his name comes up for discussion and after finally getting it for my collection, I can see the reason for the enthusiasm. It has the best of both worlds…great teak apparatus and an involved lengthy routine that entertains. A whole show in itself!!

Cute and quite devious

This is a nice little piece from Alan. I always try to figure out the method on any effect I order, but this one surprised me. Not as strong as his other stuff, but then his other stuff is fabulous. I can visualize a very entertaining outcome with just the right presentation. I love teak and this one shows that classic Warner touch.

Great prop for forcing a color

Want to force a particular color and do it with CLASS? Look no further than this beautiful prop from Alan. I will give this one a 5 because the workmanship and operation is so good. I like the idea of using Card Case 20 with this prop for a really mind-blowing effect. Love it!

The Paddle Trick Outdone!

Only Alan can take the straight forward paddle trick and expand it into a beautiful routine where the inlaid design is magically transferrred from the paddle to a previously blank plaque. Again, beautiful craftsmanship that always deserves a 5+ rating!

Can The Surprises Ever End?

And I thought Alan could not surprise me after some great pieces in my collection, but he sure can and likely will in the future. This is simply an amazing piece of Egyptian themed mini-magic – my favorite style because of the beautiful designs and that inherent mystical quality of this subject. Pictures unfortunately never give these Warner pieces any justice.

I have already exhausted all my praises for this wonderful craftsman and I realize my reviews are getting rather too repetitive. It’s just that there is no fault that can be found with any Warner piece. So why do I continue writing them – well, simply because they are sincere “thank you!” notes for each and every piece that comes to my collection.
